Hi Kendra! 💖 7/21/19
Going to send you something telling you about the next ‘Through God Comes Justice’ meeting, which is tomorrow night at 7. But I came across this video (I like videos!) when I went to the Jail Ministry site, and thought I would send it to you first. It’s 2 years old, but I believe it still applies. 😇 Gives us an idea about the jail ministry, and also, it is an interview of the jail chaplain, Chaplain Dennis, which helps us get to know him a little. 😆
I haven’t met Chaplain Dennis yet, but I have talked with him on the phone, asking him if he could stop by and talk with Aaron about what they had to offer the inmates to help their spiritual growth while they are in jail, and he said he would. And later Aaron told me the chaplain did stop by & talk with him.😍 (I had told Aaron I was going to ask him to).
I also explained to Aaron to not take it personally that he hadn’t gotten a visit from Chaplain Dennis before then. The chaplain told me that he wished they could do more for the inmates, but at this time they are short on helpers for meeting with & counseling the inmates (those who want that), having Bible studies during the week for the ladies and the men (many more men!), and also do a correspondence course with the inmates while they are in the jail, including checking their homework & returning it to them with comments (Wow! That is something! 😇). I think the chaplain even keeps up with them 😍, through the correspondence course, after they leave the jail!! 💕 Hurray!
And they have Sunday church service in jail, baptisms, and other special things for the inmates I didn’t know about. BUT they do need MORE volunteers! 💒
I told Aaron God wants to use him! 🤗 I told Aaron God wants to use him to help us with things like ministering to the guys in jail, especially Aaron being able to tell them "I’ve been there" and things like "You CAN 😅, with God and His people helping you 👬👭👪🙏💒🤗, get your life turned around!"
I told Aaron God will have him doing things like this ‘after’ he gets the help (& equipping!) he’ll need to ‘grow strong in the Lord’ 📖🙏😄 by going through a good Christian men’s residential program! And also, will be getting ‘equipped to help others’👬, mightily!! 🤗 That God has a great call on his life; and wants to use all that the devil 👿 has done, trying to destroy 😩 his life!
That God wants to use the bad (as in most addiction sickness cases, even HORRIBLE!! 😵) things God has gotten him free from! Turn those bad experiences & memories into testimonies about our loving & almighty God! Show off ‘what God has done’ 😇 to be a powerful help for others.
Aaron agreed!! 😄 He wants God to use him to help others!! 💞 Praise the Lord!
Very helpful video of Chaplain Dennis being interviewed below:
God is doing a Mighty work, causing the drug/alcohol addiction sickness epidemic 😩 (often co-occurring with serious mental illness) to backfire against the 👿 enemy! 🎶📖👆💞👑💒 👪
Even miraculously working it for good!! 🤗 Romans 8:28!!!
