On Easter, let us remember that in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ we have been granted by our Creator with the glorious gift of freedom, which makes redemption possible.
When our Founding Fathers established this great nation, they based it on the sovereignty of the people, whose inalienable rights to Life, Liberty and The Pursuit of Happiness are endowed by our Creator. Those rights are at risk as some with well intentioned motives and others seeking raw power try to make government the dispenser of rights and freedom and the guarantor of equal results for all. Whether well meaning or not, such thinking is the prelude to tyranny.
To preserve our freedom, we must reclaim the foundations that made this nation great. That is why I am running for Lieutenant Governor of Virginia. This is where the foundations were laid and this is where they must be restored.
With faith in the God who gave us this nation and hope in the resurrection power that has allowed us to rise from every crisis even stronger than before, let us be steadfast. Our vision of individual freedom with virtue, of individual achievement with concern for our fellow citizens, will prevail to make the 21st century a time of resurrection of the American dream of “one nation under God with liberty and justice for all.”
